Bill is the founder of PAN Works, an ethics think tank dedicated to the wellbeing of animals. He is also a Research Scientist in the Marsh Institute of Clark University (MA, USA), and an occasional professor of Anthrozoology at Canisius University (NY, USA). A former editor of the journals Ethics, Policy and the Environment and Animals & Society, he is noted for his work on the intersections of ethics and public policy. The ethics surrounding wolf recovery, urban wildlife, outdoor cats and barred/spotted owls are particularly close to his heart.
